Gainfully employed, once again

This last week has been a little crazy, folks, lemme tell ya. Well, to be exact, it's the last two days of the week that's absolutely nuckin' futs. The first few days were just normal. But I'm rambling on! Anyhoo, on Thursday around 5.00 p.m., someone from some staffing company I never even heard of called me up, gave me a phone interview and told me that a company's interested me and asked if I was available the next day for an interview. So I said, sure, why not? He promised to try to call me later on in the day, but he didn't. So no big loss, I thought.

The next day, the same fella called me. Asked me a few more questions, and told me the interview is on at 4.00 p.m. He also told me that the company in question is a Japanese-based multinational. So I went for the interview, and 5 minutes into the interview, they practically hired me on the spot. They wanted me to start straight away (3 Feb, Tuesday. Monday's a public holiday here), and to drop by the office to sign some papers on Tuesday before I started working.

It's not exactly the job that I would've chosen for myself (yet another programming job), but like I told my mom and my friends, a job's a job, y'know? So, well, it's the exposure that counts. Being a consulting firm, it means that I'll have plenty of chances to deal with people from different companies plus it's a big company, so it's all good.

I only hope I don't need to give the staffing company any money....
